School Meals
Children have the choice of having packed lunches or hot meals. Hot meals need to be ordered and paid for in advance. They can be taken daily or on selected days during the week. Menus are on a three-week rota - there is always a choice of a main meal, jacket potato or a vegetarian option.
Hot meals are provided free of charge for all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 as part of our government's commitment to Universal Free School Meals for infants. The vast majority of families at Colehill take up this offer of a free hot meal for their children. However, parents are not obligated to do so and some pupils do bring a packed lunch.
We encourage them to eat as much of their meal as possible and to try a bit of everything. A drink of water is always supplied for those having hot lunches.
Paid meals are offered to pupils in years 3 and 4 at a daily cost of £2.80. Meals are provided by Forerunner, a local provider with an excellent reputation for catering in schools and other settings.
